Y-Wall Product Pack – Summary

• Product: RCM Y-Wall, calcium silicate fibre cement board for structural and non-structural sheathing behind façades/rainscreens on steel or timber frames; A1 fire rated (BS EN 13501-1:2018).

• Sizes: 1200 × 2400 mm in 6, 9, 12, or 15 mm thicknesses; temporary exposure up to 12 months; service life = building life (min. 30 years).

• Fixings:

  • Timber – FIX005 (4.2 × 42 mm).

  • SFS – FIX006 (4.8 × 38 mm).

  • Landscape install = 25 fixings; portrait = 27 fixings.

• Jointing:

  • Standard – 3–5 mm gap, DAFA or 315 tape.

  • Fire-rated – fill with low-modulus FR silicone, then tape.

  • Airtight – apply Benx Joint Seal Kit (tape + joint seal liquid).

• Installation: Smooth face outward, brick-bond/staggered layout, L-shape cuts around windows, EPDM strips for non-board interfaces.

• Performance: Fire resistance 60–120 minutes (outside to inside) depending on build-up; tested in both loadbearing and non-loadbearing walls.

• Limitations: Not suitable as a pattress board; lightweight loads only, heavier fixtures fixed to studwork.

• Warranty: Requires pre-project request, agreed installation process, site photos, and proof of product purchase.
