Yes, external items can be fixed to an EWI system after installation, but specialist fixings designed for insulated facades must be used. Standard screws and wall plugs are not suitable, as they can damage the system and compromise its weather resistance.
The type of fixing required will depend on the weight and application. As a guide, spiral fixing plugs can support up to 5kg, ISO Dart fixings up to 10kg, and pre-installed CompacFoam blocks can support loads of up to 30kg.
