Any boiler, flue, or combustion appliance that requires an air supply must be considered during the design and installation of the EWI system. Flues may need to be extended to accommodate the additional insulation thickness, and permanent air vents must be maintained to ensure a continuous air supply to the appliance.
Where required, non-combustible insulation such as mineral wool is used around flue penetrations to maintain fire performance. Existing flues and air vents should never be blocked or covered during or after installation.
