Sheathing Board Fixing Details – Summary

• Boards Covered: Y-Wall, Multipurpose, Cemboard (external application on SFS).

• Fixings: RCM FIX006 Wingtip Screw (4.8 × 38 mm) or Benx-approved equivalent.

• Fixing Pattern:

  • Landscape: 25 fixings per sheet.

  • Portrait: 27 fixings per sheet.

  • Min. 12–15 mm from board edges, 50 mm from corners.

• Joints:

  • Gap: 2–5 mm between boards.

  • Fire-rated: Fill with Nullifire 703 sealant before taping.

  • Weathering:

    • Up to 6 months – seal edges/joints with suitable sealant.

    • Up to 12 months – seal + apply Dafa sealing tape over joints.

  • Airtightness: Apply Joint Seal Kit (Dafa tape + joint seal liquid) over joints.

• Face Orientation: Smooth face outward, textured face inward.

• Special Details:

  • EPDM and sealant at deflection heads, openings, and concrete interfaces.

  • All installation to comply with CDM 2015 and Benx specifications; substitution of materials voids compliance and warranty.
