RCM Y-Wall – Installation Manual Summary

  • Product: High-quality calcium silicate fibre cement board for external sheathing (steel/timber frames) and internal lining; Class A1 fire rated.

  • Sizes: Thickness 6, 9, 12, 15 mm; standard board size 2400 × 1200 mm.

  • Fixings:

    • Steel frame – Ø4.8 × 38 mm FIX006 self-drilling winged screw.

    • Timber frame – Ø4.2 × 42 mm FIX005 self-drilling screw.

    • Max 300 mm spacing, min 12 mm from edge, 50 mm from corners.

  • Installation:

    • Store flat, dry, and protected.

    • Install smooth face outward, brick-bond pattern, 2–5 mm joint gaps.

    • Use EPDM tape at deflection joints, seal all joints and openings per fire strategy.

    • Cut on bench/trestles with dust suppression; use PPE for dust, noise, and vibration.

  • Jointing:

    • Non-fire-rated – Dafa UV tape + RCM Joint Seal liquid.

    • Fire-rated – add sealant in joints before taping.

    • Use EPDM or expanding tape at openings, movement joints, and concrete interfaces.

  • Applications: Fire-rated sheathing, ceilings, partitions, OEM uses; suitable for high-rise (>18 m).

  • Handling: Lift with long edges supported; avoid excessive flexing; follow site-specific QA procedures.
